Description

This kit uses specific primers and fluorescent probes designed for the West Nile virus genome and internal control gene 18S rRNA, and uses one-step fluorescent RT-PCR technology to perform in vitro amplification and detection of West Nile virus DNA and internal control gene 18S rRNA, and is used for clinical etiological diagnosis of suspected infected samples.

Application

West Nile virus (WNV) is a non-segmented, single-stranded, positive-sense RNA virus that belongs to the genus Flavivirus in the family Flaviviridae and can cause zoonotic diseases. The main source of infection of the virus is wild birds, and the vector is Culex mosquitoes. The virus circulates in birds at high concentrations, producing viremia and infecting large numbers of mosquitoes, which are then transmitted to birds, humans and some mammals through mosquito bites.

This kit is suitable for detecting West Nile virus RNA in venous blood samples of suspected infected animals or humans, and is suitable for auxiliary diagnosis of West Nile virus infection.
