Case Study: Plasma/Serum microRNA Extraction with RNK4601 miEASY microRNA Kit
In normal RNA extraction kits, 5S RNA cannot be adsorbed by the spin column (CL20A), hence this band is either invisible or very faint. However, with the RNK4601 microRNA extraction kit, the band can be clearly seen, indicating its ability to recover small fragments of RNA.
The ratio of 28S:18S is approximately 2.
5S RNA was also fully extracted, with no DNA residue detected (the band above 28S was pre-RNA). The OD ratio of 260/280 was 2.2, indicating that the purity of the microRNA is also extremely high.
