Description
Protein A is a surface protein found on the cell wall of Staphylococcus aureus with a molecular weight of 42 kDa; Protein G is an immunoglobulin-binding protein expressed by C or G-type streptococcal bacteria. Protein A and Protein G have similar functions and can specifically bind to mammalian immunoglobulins (Immunoglobulin, Ig). Recombinant-modified Protein A and Protein G can be combined with gel in a certain manner for use in immunoprecipitation or antibody purification. Protein A gel is suitable for binding human IgG1, IgG2, IgG4, mouse IgG2a, IgG2b, etc., while Protein G gel is suitable for binding human IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4, mouse IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG3, rat IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG2c, and other polyclonal antibodies (specific details are provided in Appendix 1).
The product utilizes a Protein G protein labeling gel developed and produced in-house. Compared to similar products on the market, this product exhibits higher antibody binding efficiency and lower non-specific binding rates. When paired with an optimized buffer solution, it enables convenient and efficient immunoprecipitation experiments. It can be widely applied for the separation and purification of target proteins in samples such as cell lysates, cell supernatants, serum, and ascites.
Application
Protein immunoprecipitation, protein co-immunoprecipitation, protein purification and separation.
Features
- Product content: 50% (v/v) agarose gel is stored in special preservation solution.
- Gel type: 6% cross-linked agarose gel.
- Conjugated protein: Protein G.
- Molecular weight of conjugated protein: ~25kDa(Protein G).
- Binding protein ability: >1mg mouse antibody/ml gel.
- Specificity: Antibodies from different species, including mice, humans, rats, goats, sheep, and cows.
- Gel size: 30~150μm
- Elution method: Acid washing or 1 x protein loading buffer (reduction type) elution. Note: If 1×protein loading buffer (reduced) is used for elution, the heavy chain (~50kDa) and light chain (~25kDa) of the antibody will be denatured and released from the gel.
