Description
This kit uses fluorescent PCR technology to design specific primers and specific fluorescent probes for the conserved regions of herpes simplex virus type 1, type 2 and human endogenous gene sequences. This enables the qualitative detection of herpes simplex virus in infected cells in patient's genital urinary tract secretions and genital scrapings.
Application
Herpes simplex is a contagious skin disease caused by infection with the herpes simplex virus (HSV). It can cause herpes on the skin and mucous membranes, including the oral cavity and genital areas.Herpes simplex virus belongs to the alphavirinae subfamily of the human herpesviridae family and is a linear double-stranded DNA virus. It can be divided into herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), and their nucleic acid sequences are about 50% homologous. HSV-1 causes oral herpes primarily through mouth-to-oral contact, but can also cause genital herpes. HSV-2 is a sexually transmitted infection that causes genital herpes. Infection with HSV-2 increases the risk of developing and transmitting HIV infection.
This kit is suitable for detecting herpes simplex virus DNA in infected cells of genital urinary tract secretions and genital scrapings, and is suitable for auxiliary diagnosis and epidemiological investigation of herpes simplex virus infection.
